Rating, reviews, installs and the purchase range come from each app’s US Google Play listing on August 25, 2026, as the listing shows them; FaxTerra’s own as of September 30, 2026. How an app sells comes from its App Store purchase list and its own site, because Play shows a price range and no billing period. The same comparison for iPhone is best fax app for iPhone.

One fax, today
FaxTerra, free. One fax fits inside the 10 free pages you get every month, so there is no subscription to start or cancel. If it is an IRS form, the guide to faxing the IRS has the number and the cover-page details.
A long document
Buy a page pack. FaxTerra sells 10 pages for $1.99, 30 for $4.99, and 100 for $9.99, which makes the largest pack $0.10 a page. Pages you do not use stay in your account. For a document over about 30 pages, read how to send a large fax first.
You need to receive a reply
A plan that includes the number. FaxTerra Starter is $4.99 a month and its 50 pages cover both directions. Elsewhere the number is often a separate purchase: Genius Fax sells it as its own subscription and charges a credit per received page on top, according to its help pages, and Snapfax and Turbo Fax do not offer a number at all. Add the cost of receiving to the cost of sending before you compare.
A lot of faxes in one week
A weekly plan, with the cancel date in your calendar. 5 of the 12 apps with a readable purchase list sell one, and two of them, FAX App and FaxFree, sell it as unlimited faxing. The week renews until you cancel, and what unlimited means is defined in each vendor’s terms, so read those before you rely on the word.
Sending to another country
Check the country list before you pay. FaxTerra’s free pages go to the US and Canada; with credits or a plan it reaches 27 countries. Genius Fax lists 46 destinations on its store listing and says in its help pages that local and international cost the same. For any other app, look for the country list on the vendor’s own site.
The four pricing models
Play shows one price range per app. The model behind it is what decides what a fax costs.
Weekly plan
A week of faxing that renews until you stop it, sold by 5 of the 12 apps with a readable purchase list. It fits a burst of sending. For a fax every few months it is the most expensive option, because the renewals keep going after the need stops. The yearly cost, app by app, is on what fax apps cost across a year.
Monthly or annual plan
The same idea over a longer period, and usually a better rate per fax if you send every month. Some vendors sell sending and receiving as two separate plans, so if you need both, price both.
Credit packs
You buy credits and spend them as you send. 4 of the 12 apps with a readable purchase list work this way. A credit is not a page: the Play listing shows the price range of the packs and nothing about what one credit buys, so you cannot work out the cost of a document unless the vendor publishes the ratio. Genius Fax does, in its help pages: one credit per page, sent or received.
Page packs
You buy pages, so you know what a document costs before you send it. FaxTerra’s packs are $1.99 for 10 pages, $4.99 for 30, and $9.99 for 100. Buy them in the app or on the web; it is one balance either way.

Common questions
What is the best free fax app for Android?
FaxTerra, if you send a few pages now and then: 10 free pages every month to the US and Canada, in the app or at faxterra.com. Three other apps in the table publish a free allowance, and each one is granted once rather than monthly: FAX App gives one free page, on your first fax, Turbo Fax gives one free page, on your first fax, and Fax.Plus gives 10 free pages for the life of the account.
Which Android fax app has no subscription?
Look for an app that sells pages or credits instead of a plan. FaxTerra sells pages: $1.99 for 10, up to $9.99 for 100, which works out to $0.10 a page, on top of the 10 free pages every month. A fax number is available on a plan if you want one later. 4 of the 12 apps with a readable purchase list sell credits, including Genius Fax, Snapfax and FaxFile. Genius Fax says what one credit buys; the other listings do not.
Can an Android fax app receive faxes?
Only with a fax number, and the number is what the monthly fee is for. Genius Fax sells the number as a subscription and charges a credit for each page received, according to its help pages. Snapfax and Turbo Fax do not offer a number at all, according to their listings. FaxTerra Starter is $4.99 a month for the number and 50 pages that cover both sending and receiving.
Why does Google Play show a price range instead of a price?
Play shows one range for all of an app’s in-app purchases, from the cheapest item to the most expensive, without naming the items or saying how often they bill. The range tells you how wide the pricing is, not what a fax costs. Check how each app sells before you install, and read the paywall inside the app before you buy.
How do I cancel a fax app subscription on Android?
In the Google Play app, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions; select the subscription and tap Cancel subscription. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it, and a cancelled subscription stays usable for the time you have already paid, by Google’s own help page.
