Why a fax number
If the IRS, your insurer, or your doctor faxes back, the reply lands in your inbox. From a shared number, it can't reach you. And at $4.99/mo, it's the best value in faxing, by a wide margin:
No lock-ins. Cancel anytime online, with no phone call and no retention maze.
Pricing Questions
Is FaxTerra really free?
Yes. You get 10 pages every month to the US and Canada with no credit card, no ads on your fax, no watermarks, and no trial that converts to a paid plan. Most "free" fax services brand your cover page or push you onto a subscription; FaxTerra doesn't.
What is the cheapest fax number / best value?
FaxTerra is the best value in the industry. A dedicated fax number that sends and receives is $4.99/month, versus eFax at $18.99/month. It includes 60 pages/month, email notifications, and faxing to 27 countries.
Is there a contract or cancellation fee?
No. There are no lock-ins and no cancellation fees. Cancel anytime, self-serve, from your Plans page: no phone call, no retention maze. Your number is released at the end of the billing period and any unused credits stay in your account.
Do I need a subscription to send a fax?
No. You can send faxes with a free account (10 pages/month) or by buying a credit pack. A subscription is only needed if you want your own dedicated fax number to receive faxes.
What happens if someone faxes a reply back to me?
If you have a subscription with a dedicated fax number, your faxes are sent from that number, so replies come straight back to your inbox. Without a subscription, faxes are sent from a shared number and replies can't be routed to you. If you expect replies (from a doctor's office, government agency, or business), a dedicated number ensures you'll receive them.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits never expire. Buy them when you need them, use them whenever.
What happens when I use all my included subscription pages?
Sending is paused and new incoming faxes are saved but access is limited until your next billing cycle. You can buy credits for the overflow, or upgrade to Business ($9.99/mo, 200 pages) or Pro ($29.99/mo, 1,000 pages). No surprise overage charges.
Do you have a plan for high-volume faxing?
Yes. Pro is $29.99/month (or $299.00/year) for 1,000 pages a month on your own fax number, about 3¢/page. That's built for clinics, law firms, and offices that fax daily: the same volume via Business + credit packs would run roughly $90/month, and legacy fax services charge $40–60/month for far fewer pages. Sending and receiving draw from the same pool, and there are no overage charges.
Can I send faxes internationally?
Yes! Send faxes to 27 countries including the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, and more. International faxing is available with credit packs and subscriptions. Free accounts are limited to the US and Canada.
