Your Own Fax Number for $4.99/Month
eFax charges $18.99/month for a fax number. Ours is $4.99 with 50 pages included — because the infrastructure behind a fax number costs a fraction of what these services charge.
Why a dedicated number matters
Without your own fax number, your faxes are sent from a shared number. If the other party responds, the reply can’t reach you.
IRS filings
A rejection notice from the IRS goes unanswered — penalties and refiling follow.
Insurance claims
Your insurer's determination never arrives — you miss your appeal window.
Bank documents
Your lender requests more documents — your closing gets delayed.
Legal filings
A court filing response goes missing — deadlines pass.
For $4.99/month, every reply reaches you. That’s less than the cost of missing one.
The cheapest number depends on how long you need it
For a single filing, paying once costs less than any monthly plan. For ongoing use, the monthly plan is cheaper per month.
One-Time Fax Number
Your own number for 90 days, long enough to send a filing and catch the reply even when it arrives weeks later. Then it ends, with nothing to cancel.

Common Questions
How much does a dedicated fax number cost?
FaxTerra Starter is $4.99/month with 50 pages included, plus the 10 free ones. That is 74% below eFax ($18.99/month) and about 30% below Fax.Plus Basic ($6.99/month), though Fax.Plus Basic carries 200 pages, so if you fax that much their plan is the better rate and ours is the cheaper bill. Over a year Starter is $49.99 against their $83.99. The infrastructure behind a fax number costs a fraction of what most services charge.
Why is eFax $18.99/month?
eFax is owned by Consensus Cloud Solutions (NASDAQ: CCSI), a large and highly profitable public company. Their pricing reflects a near-monopoly position from the early 2000s, not what the service actually costs to deliver. The interface hasn't been meaningfully updated in over a decade either.
Can I get a fax number without a monthly plan?
Yes. A one-time fax number is $14.99 paid once and gives you your own number for 90 days, with 50 pages included. It receives faxes into your inbox the same way a plan's number does, then ends on its own with nothing to cancel. If you need a number for longer than that, the monthly plan costs less over time.
Can I keep my fax number if I cancel?
Your FaxTerra number is yours as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel, you keep the number until the end of your paid period; when the subscription ends, a FaxTerra-assigned number is released. A number you ported in is treated as your property: it's held so you can move it to another provider, and we never charge a fee to port it out. We don't charge cancellation fees or make you call — cancel online, self-serve, from your Plans page.
Can I bring my existing number?
Yes — port your existing US or Canada fax number in, free with any paid plan, and keep the number that's already printed on your forms and directory listings. Because your current provider drives the transfer, expect from about a business day to a few weeks; your existing service keeps working until it completes.
Do I need a dedicated number to send faxes?
No. If you only need to send faxes (not receive them), FaxTerra's free tier and credit packs work without a dedicated number. A dedicated number is only necessary if you want to receive incoming faxes — or if you need the person you faxed to be able to fax you back.
What if someone faxes a reply to a fax I sent?
With a dedicated number, your outgoing faxes show your number as the sender. If the recipient faxes back, it arrives in your inbox automatically. Without a dedicated number, faxes are sent from a shared number and replies can't be delivered to you.
How will I know when a fax arrives?
You get an email notification immediately when a fax arrives at your number. You can also view incoming faxes in your inbox on the web — works on your phone, tablet, or computer.
