Can I move my Nextiva fax number to FaxTerra?
Yes. Porting a US or Canada fax number in is free with any paid plan. Before you start, collect four things from Nextiva: your account number, the PIN or passcode on the account, the service address exactly as Nextiva has it on file, and a recent bill showing your name, the fax number, and the account number. Then start the transfer from the Numbers page in your FaxTerra account. Keep your Nextiva service active until the transfer completes — cancelling early is the most common way a transfer fails. If you leave FaxTerra, porting the number back out is free.
How much does Nextiva vFax cost?
On annual billing as of August 2026, Nextiva vFax Essential is $7.95/month for 500 pages and Professional is $13.95/month for 1,000 pages. Month to month costs more, with Essential at $9.95/month. Sent and received pages draw on one allowance, and pages after it are $0.03 each. FaxTerra plans run month to month, starting at $4.99/month with a free tier below that.
Does Nextiva vFax have a mobile app?
No. Nextiva's vFAX guide describes faxing from a mobile device as using email or the vFAX web portal; the Nextiva app in the app stores is its phone product, not fax. The guide also lets only one email address on the account send faxes by email. FaxTerra has iOS and Android apps for sending and receiving faxes.
Can Nextiva vFax send international faxes?
No. Nextiva's own vFAX guide states that it does not support international faxing. FaxTerra sends to fax numbers in 27 countries with credits or a subscription.
How long does Nextiva vFax keep my faxes?
Six months. Nextiva's vFAX guide states that after six months all fax data is purged from its servers and cannot be restored, and there is no option to extend that window. Any plan can extend inbox retention, and Business and higher plans can choose how long sent faxes are kept.
Is Nextiva vFax HIPAA compliant?
Not on its standard plans: Nextiva's terms require its prior written agreement before its services are used to handle protected health information, and its HIPAA tier is quoted through sales with no published price.
