• How Long the IRS Takes to Fax Back Your EIN

What happens after a faxed Form SS-4, measured per filing: how many days a reply takes, how many first filings are answered within three weeks, how many never are, and what a re-sent filing changes. The IRS's published figures sit beside ours. Updated monthly.

Data as of October 1, 2026

Each page is an internal research project published as it stands, for information only. The figures are faxes sent through FaxTerra and say nothing about anyone in particular; nothing finer than a country or a state and a count is shown. A page updates when we rerun its analysis, and says when that was.
