What people say
This service was exceptional! I just needed to fax 1 page to a doctor's office, I'm not a business, I don't need a monthly subscription, I didn't want to give a website my credit card...Faxterra did exactly what I needed, didn't ask for my credit card or make me sign-up for a 7-day trial. THANK YOU so much for offering a simple service for free.
I needed to fax something and the closest fax machine is about a 30 min drive away. I looked up if there was a way to get the fax done without having to drive and tried out FaxTerra. The website and experience were both logical and easy.
This is by far the quickest, easiest way to send a fax anywhere. No hassle, easy signup with just your Google account, decent amount of pages per month, and you don't have to deal with advertisements or watermarks added to your documents. Highly recommended!
I checked several different fax apps and this was by far the best I found. Highly recommend.
We only needed one service, a .pdf file faxed to a number, but it performed that service without issue. We knew that this was an often-busy fax number we were sending to, but it informed us that the attempt timed out, and after we chose 'retry', it went through without problem. Quick, easy, responsive, we had no issues with it.
Needed to send a fax asap — worked quick and I was able to see sent and delivered status.
Common questions
Is it really free?
Yes. You get 10 free pages a month to any supported country, with no credit card. Credit packs start at $1.99 for more pages.
Can I receive fax replies?
Subscribe to receive faxes at your own number, from $4.99/mo. Replies to the faxes you send from that number arrive in your inbox.
Is FaxTerra HIPAA compliant?
Yes, with the HIPAA compliance add-on at $4.99/mo on any paid plan. Covered entities sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) before checkout. The add-on brings per-document encryption, PHI-free notification emails, and a 6-year audit log. Without the add-on, no plan includes a BAA or is intended for protected health information.
Can my team share one fax number?
Yes. Everyone on your account shares its fax number, inbox, sent history, and monthly pages. Invite as many people as you like on any plan. There is no per-user fee.
Which devices can I use?
Use FaxTerra in your web browser or in the app for iPhone and Android. Your faxes, number, and plan are the same on every device.
What file types can I fax?
PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, GIF, BMP, and WebP. Save Word documents as a PDF first.
Can I sign a document before faxing it?
Yes. Open any page while you compose a fax, draw your signature once, add the date or a line of text if the form asks for them, and send. Signing is free on every plan, on the web and in the iPhone and Android apps.
Does FaxTerra filter junk faxes?
Yes, for every subscriber with a fax number. When a fax looks like an advertisement, we tag it Likely spam and leave it in your inbox. Anyone on the account can mark a fax as spam or not spam. An owner or admin can choose in Settings not to be told about likely spam.
Is there a page limit?
No. A document can have any number of pages. One over 100 pages goes as several faxes and costs the same. If a long fax stops partway, we send the rest for you.
Can I keep my fax number?
Yes. Porting a US or Canadian local fax number in is free with any paid plan. If you leave, we hold a number you brought for 60 days so you can move it. Porting it out is free.
Will there be branding or ads on my fax?
No ads, watermarks, or branding on your fax.
Where can I send faxes?
Free pages, credits and subscriptions all reach the 27 supported countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Australia, and Japan. A page to the US or Canada costs one page or one credit, and a page to any other country costs two.
How will I know if my fax was delivered?
You get a delivery confirmation by email when your fax is delivered. You can also check its status any time.
