Ally Fax Numbers by Business

Ally runs the bank, the auto lender and the brokerage as separate operations with separate fax numbers. The document decides the number, not the brand.

Which Ally fax line you need

Ally has no branches, so paperwork that another bank would take at a counter goes by fax, email, or mail. It also runs three separate businesses, and each has its own fax numbers.

Ally Bank deposit accounts. Estate documents, the power of attorney form, name changes, contact changes and IRA forms all go to Deposit Operations at (866) 699-2969. Ally asks that the cover sheet name the subject line its form specifies.

Ally Auto. General auto correspondence goes to (866) 584-2047. Beyond that, Ally splits by situation: an insurer sends total-loss valuation and settlement documents to (678) 682-7335, a title transfer when you move to a new state goes to PDP Services at (410) 584-1691, impound notices go to (844) 329-1597, confiscation notices to (866) 728-6111, and bankruptcy documents to (904) 376-8517.

Ally Invest. Account transfer forms, name and contact changes, and beneficiary forms go to (866) 699-0563.

Two clarifications save wasted sends. Ally Home mortgages moved to a different servicer, and Ally publishes no mortgage fax of its own, so there is no such thing as an Ally Home mortgage fax number. The Ally credit card site lists no fax number, and Ally publishes none for transaction disputes; those are filed online or by phone. Dealer-facing insurance and funding numbers exist on Ally dealer pages and are not consumer lines.

Ally publishes a fax number for its domestic wire transfer request form. This guide deliberately does not repeat it, because wire instructions are the single document most often used to move money to the wrong place. Download the form from ally.com and use the number printed on it.

What customers send to these lines

Because Ally has no branches, the documents are the ones another bank would witness in person:

  • A death certificate with letters testamentary or a small-estate affidavit, for Deposit Operations
  • The Ally power of attorney form with the POA document itself
  • Name change and contact change request forms
  • Total-loss settlement and valuation paperwork, sent by your insurer rather than by you
  • Bankruptcy notices, impound and confiscation notices on an auto account
  • Ally Invest account transfer forms and beneficiary designations

Most run two to eight pages with attachments, which is where a credit pack rather than the free tier starts to matter.

These lines take documents in, not out

All of them are intake queues. Ally works the document and replies by secure message, by email, or by phone. Nothing returns by fax and Ally issues no receipt when your pages arrive.

That gap is what the FaxTerra delivery confirmation fills: the destination number, the page count, and the timestamp the receiving machine accepted the pages. For an estate submission at a branchless bank, where there is no teller who can confirm they took your paperwork, having your own dated record is the substitute.

Verify the number before you send

Estate and POA packets carry two people identities and a court document:

  • Match the number to the business. Deposit Operations, Ally Auto and Ally Invest are separate operations, and an auto document sent to the bank line is not forwarded.
  • Read the subject line the Ally form asks you to write on the cover sheet. Ally routes by that subject as well as by number.
  • Never fax wire instructions or a full set of online banking credentials. Ally does not ask for them by fax, and a wire instruction that arrived by email is the standard opening of a wire fraud, no matter how ordinary it looks.
  • Do not look for an Ally Home mortgage fax. The loans moved to another servicer, and any number claiming to be one is not Ally.

How to fax Ally without a fax machine

Create a free FaxTerra account with an email address. Upload the signed form and its attachments as a PDF or as photos taken with your phone, enter the number for the Ally business you are dealing with, and send.

A short form sends free within the 10 free pages every account gets each month. An estate packet with a death certificate and court documents is covered by a one-time credit pack from about 10¢ a page, and the Starter subscription covers a monthly page allowance if you are settling an estate across several institutions.
