One number, and Brighthouse says what to put on it

Brighthouse’s support FAQ answers the question directly: paperwork about a contract or policy can be submitted by fax to (877) 246-8424, and the fax should carry the contract or policy owner’s name and phone number so it can be matched.

That is the only fax number Brighthouse publishes. The FAQ lists separate mailing addresses for non-variable products, variable products, new business and claims, but gives one fax for service requests. There is no separate claims fax, and this page does not invent one.

The service line takes contract-level paperwork:

• Annuity service forms: withdrawal requests, beneficiary changes, address changes, required minimum distribution elections
• Life policy service forms
• Death claim forms and supporting documents, including a certified death certificate
• Ownership and payout option changes

A death claim package with a certificate and identification commonly runs six to twelve pages, past the free monthly allowance. One credit pack covers it.

The line takes documents in, it does not answer

Brighthouse’s service fax is an intake line. Pages arrive, a service representative works the request, and Brighthouse responds by mail or by phone using the details you supply. Nothing comes back by fax and there is no fax acknowledgment.

Verify the number before you send

• Write the contract or policy owner’s name and phone number on the cover page, as Brighthouse asks. Without them, the pages cannot be matched to a contract.
• Check the servicing company on your latest statement. A policy that says MetLife on an old document may say Brighthouse now, and the reverse is true for employer-held coverage.
• Read your form’s return instructions. Where a Brighthouse form names its own destination, that one wins.
• Never fax wire instructions, a full bank routing and account pair, or login credentials. A sent fax cannot be recalled.
