Citizens Bank Fax Numbers by Department

Citizens publishes three fax numbers, all tied to a specific request. One important form says outright that faxed documents will not be accepted, so check before you send.

Which Citizens fax line you need

The Citizens contact page, the forms and documents page, and the credit card contact pages carry no fax number at all. These three come from the military and mortgage pages.

Military orders. SCRA requests go to the Military Assistance Team at (855) 872-1791 in Johnston, Rhode Island. Citizens also takes those by email and by mail.

Trouble paying a mortgage. The mortgage assistance application and hardship certification go to Loss Mitigation at (888) 777-1631 in Glen Allen, Virginia.

Taking a financed car abroad. A permission letter request goes to (877) 362-6343 with your orders and insurance.

One thing worth knowing before you fax anything else: the Citizens subordination request form states that faxed documentation will not be accepted. If a form you are holding says the same, believe it, because a faxed copy in that case does not start the process. Credit bureau disputes, autopay enrollment, partial release of lien, one-and-the-same affidavits, and trust cover sheets all carry no fax number on their Citizens forms either.

Loan officer microsites carry per-officer fax numbers. Those belong to an individual, not to a servicing queue.

What customers send to these lines

Each of the three expects one request with supporting documents:

  • Military orders or a DD-214 with an SCRA benefit request
  • The mortgage assistance application, a hardship certification, pay stubs and tax returns
  • A written request to take a financed vehicle out of the country, with orders and proof of insurance

The SCRA and vehicle requests run a few pages. The assistance application with a full income file is the one that runs long.

These lines take documents in, not out

All three are intake queues. Citizens works the request and replies by mail, by phone, or through online banking. Nothing comes back by fax, and Citizens sends no acknowledgement when the pages arrive.

The delivery confirmation FaxTerra emails you covers that: destination number, page count, and the timestamp. On an SCRA request, where the rate benefit applies from the start of active duty and the paperwork date is part of the record, that is worth keeping with your copy of the orders.

Verify the number before you send

Military orders and a hardship file both carry more than a routine form does:

  • Read the instructions on the Citizens form or page for your request. Where Citizens wants mail or email instead of fax, it says so plainly, and the subordination form is the clearest example.
  • Do not use a loan officer microsite fax number for a servicing document. That number reaches one person, not the department.
  • Never fax wire instructions or online banking credentials. Citizens asks for neither by fax, and a payment-redirection instruction that arrived by email is a fraud attempt rather than an errand.
  • If a Citizens representative gives you a number by phone, use theirs and note who gave it to you.

How to fax Citizens Bank without a fax machine

Create a free FaxTerra account with an email address. Upload the request and its attachments as a PDF or as photos taken with your phone, enter the department fax number, and send.

A short request sends free within the 10 free pages every account gets each month. A mortgage assistance package is covered by a one-time credit pack from about 10¢ a page, and the Starter subscription covers a monthly page allowance if the servicer keeps asking for updated documents. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Citizens Bank fax number?

Citizens publishes three: (855) 872-1791 for the Military Assistance Team, (888) 777-1631 for mortgage Loss Mitigation, and (877) 362-6343 for an auto loan out-of-country permission letter. Its general contact page lists none.

Where do I send military orders to Citizens?

To the Military Assistance Team at (855) 872-1791. Citizens also accepts the same documents by email and by mail to its Johnston, Rhode Island address.

Can I fax a subordination request to Citizens?

No. The Citizens subordination request form states that faxed documentation will not be accepted, so a faxed copy does not start the process. Follow the submission route named on the form.

Does Citizens have a fax number for credit card disputes?

None is published. The credit card contact pages carry no fax number, so use the phone number on the back of your card or the dispute route in online banking.

Is FaxTerra affiliated with Citizens Bank?

No. FaxTerra is an independent online fax service. We deliver your document to the number you enter and confirm when it arrives. We cannot access your accounts or check the status of a request.
