Truist Fax Numbers for Servicing Forms

Every fax number Truist publishes sits on a mortgage or home equity servicing form. There is no general customer-service fax, and several common requests have no fax route at all.

Which Truist fax line you need

Truist publishes no general or customer-service fax. All four numbers come from the body of a servicing form.

Letting someone speak for you. Truist runs two versions of the third party authorization, and they go to different queues. The home equity and consumer lending version goes to (866) 243-7720. The mortgage servicing version goes to (866) 464-0303. Both require a hand-signed form, and the home equity line is staffed weekdays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern.

Trouble paying a mortgage. The mortgage assistance application goes to Home Preservation at (877) 589-0758 with the income documents and hardship letter it asks for.

Setting up automatic payments. The recurring payment authorization form goes to (844) 217-5137.

Several things people try to fax Truist have no fax route. Mortgage payoff requests are explicitly online or by phone. Power of attorney is handled in a branch. Deceased-borrower documents go to Survivor Relations, and while third-party guides claim the mortgage assistance number doubles as the estate fax, Truist does not say so, and this page does not label it that way. Auto loan payoff, lien release, disputes, and wire instructions have no published Truist fax either.

Branch-locator pages carry per-branch fax numbers. Those belong to one office, not to a servicing queue, and a servicing document sent to a branch fax does not enter the servicing workflow.

What customers send to these lines

Each of the four expects one named form with its attachments:

  • The hand-signed third party authorization letting a housing counselor, attorney, or relative discuss your loan
  • The mortgage assistance application with pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements and a hardship letter
  • The recurring payment authorization form, with a voided check where the form asks for one

The authorization and payment forms are one or two pages. The assistance application with a full document set is the one that runs to twenty pages or more.

These lines take documents in, not out

All four are intake queues. Truist works the file and replies by mail, by phone, or through the account site. Nothing returns by fax and Truist issues no receipt when your pages land.

The FaxTerra delivery confirmation is the record: destination number, page count, and the timestamp the receiving machine accepted the pages. In a loss mitigation review, where the servicer works to a completeness date, being able to show exactly when a package went out is worth keeping.

Verify the number before you send

A mortgage assistance package contains tax returns and bank statements. Confirm where it goes before you send:

  • Download the Truist form and read the fax number in its body. Both authorization forms look alike and name different numbers, so read the one you are actually filling in.
  • Do not send a servicing document to a branch fax number from the branch locator. It belongs to that office and will not reach the servicing queue.
  • Never fax wire instructions or online banking credentials. Truist requests neither by fax, and an emailed instruction to change where a payoff or closing payment goes is the classic wire fraud opening.
  • For a task with no published fax, such as a payoff request or a power of attorney, use the route Truist names rather than improvising a number.

How to fax Truist without a fax machine

Create a free FaxTerra account with an email address. Upload the completed form and its attachments as a PDF or as photos taken with your phone, enter the number printed on the form, and send.

A one or two page authorization sends free within the 10 free pages every account gets each month. A full assistance package is covered by a one-time credit pack from about 10¢ a page, and the Starter subscription covers a monthly page allowance if the servicer keeps requesting updated documents. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Truist fax number?

Truist publishes four, all on servicing forms: (866) 243-7720 for the home equity third party authorization, (866) 464-0303 for the mortgage version, (877) 589-0758 for the mortgage assistance application, and (844) 217-5137 for the recurring payment authorization.

Where do I fax a mortgage assistance application to Truist?

To Home Preservation at (877) 589-0758. The application itself names that number along with the Richmond, VA mailing address and the Home Preservation email address, so any of the three works.

Can I fax a death certificate to Truist?

Truist publishes no estate or Survivor Relations fax number. Third-party guides point people at the mortgage assistance line for this, and Truist does not confirm that use, so call Truist and ask where deceased-borrower documents should go.

Can I fax a payoff request to Truist?

No. Truist directs payoff requests to its statements site or to the mortgage servicing phone line, and publishes no fax path for them.

Is FaxTerra affiliated with Truist?

No. FaxTerra is an independent online fax service. We deliver your document to the number you enter and confirm when it arrives. We cannot access your accounts or check the status of a request.
