Which Freedom Mortgage line you need

Freedom publishes its servicing fax numbers in a contact bulletin rather than on the contact page, which is why searching the main site turns up nothing. Two lines are published clearly enough to use.

(866) 505-0948 is the Customer Care fax. It takes general servicing correspondence: written questions about a payment or an escrow figure, notices of error, requests for information, and third-party authorizations.

(888) 810-7318 sits in the insurance and loss-draft group of the same bulletin. Send hazard insurance declarations, renewal proof naming Freedom as mortgagee, and loss-draft paperwork after a claim there. The bulletin column layout does not make the exact department name certain, so the honest description is the insurance side of servicing rather than a specific desk.

Hardship and loss-mitigation packages have their own destination. Freedom’s servicing FAQ names a loss-mitigation fax and email address; open that FAQ in your account and use the number Freedom shows you there, because we do not print a number we could not read on a rendered Freedom page.

What borrowers send to Freedom Mortgage

The documents that move by fax here are the ones that need a dated record:

• Homeowners insurance declarations pages and renewal proof, so Freedom does not place lender-placed coverage on the loan
• Loss-draft documents after storm or fire damage, including adjuster reports and contractor estimates
• Notices of error and requests for information about payments, escrow analysis, or fees
• Third-party authorization forms
• Hardship assistance packages, to the loss-mitigation destination in your FAQ rather than to either line above

An insurance declarations page is one or two pages. A hardship package with pay stubs and bank statements often runs twenty or more, which is where a credit pack or the Starter plan matters.

Neither number returns anything by fax. Freedom answers by mail, by phone, or in your online account, so treat a fax as delivery of a document rather than the start of a conversation.

• Sign in to your Freedom account and open the servicing FAQ for the current contact list, which is where Freedom keeps it up to date.
• If your loan was recently transferred to or from Freedom, the transfer notice names the servicer handling it now. Send to that servicer, not to the previous one.
• Skip third-party mortgage directories. Servicing contact details change when portfolios move.
