Nationwide Retirement Fax Number

Nationwide does not publish a general retirement fax

Nationwide’s annuity forms page gives the instruction rather than the number: fax or email your form to the address on the form. There is no general Nationwide Retirement Solutions fax number published on a page we could confirm, so this page asserts none.

The structural reason is that Nationwide services public-sector deferred compensation plans, and each plan sponsor gets its own branded site and its own service arrangement. Nationwide Retirement Solutions runs governmental 457(b) and 401(a) plans across many employers, and those plan sites share content while the routing behind them varies. A number that reaches one plan’s service center is not automatically right for another.

That also means a number you find on a directory site cannot be checked against a Nationwide page. A signed distribution form sent to it goes somewhere neither you nor Nationwide controls, and the form carries your name, your Social Security number and your account balance.

How to find the right number for your plan

Four routes, in order of reliability:

• Read the return-instructions block on the form itself. Nationwide’s own instruction is that the destination is on the form, and that number is specific to the office expecting your document.
• Sign in to your plan’s Nationwide site. The plan site is branded for your employer and carries the contact details for the service center that holds your account.
• Call the service number on your quarterly statement and ask them to read the fax number back to you, then write down who told you.
• Ask your employer’s benefits office. For a governmental 457 plan, the sponsor deals with the service center regularly and knows the current routing.

What people are usually sending

The paperwork that needs a destination is plan-level:

• 457(b) and 401(a) distribution and rollover request forms
• Beneficiary designation forms
• Loan requests and unforeseeable-emergency withdrawal forms
• Direct deposit authorization

Most of these need a plan administrator or employer signature before they are complete, so confirm the form is fully signed before you send it anywhere. An unsigned form does not get rejected quickly, it waits.

One distinction is worth making early: Nationwide Retirement Solutions is the public-sector retirement business. Nationwide insurance claims and Nationwide annuity service are different operations with different destinations, and a retirement form sent to an insurance queue is not forwarded.
