So identification documents for account verification and deposit account paperwork have a published fax destination. Student loan documents do not. The loan pages direct you to the secure upload site and to mail, and no loan fax is published, which means a cosigner release or a servicing form is better uploaded than faxed to a bank operations queue.

Sallie Mae’s own instructions also mention wire-transfer request forms for deposit accounts. Treat anything that moves money as portal work rather than fax work: use the secure upload site for money-movement paperwork, and keep fax for documents that only verify who you are.
