Which Transamerica line you need

Transamerica sells retirement products, life insurance and supplemental insurance through separate companies with separate processing centers, and each publishes its own fax. Two are confirmed on Transamerica’s own materials: (888) 329-4339 on the current 403(b)(7) distribution form, and (972) 881-4527 on the insurance service desk’s contact page.

There is no general Transamerica fax that reaches all of them. A life claim faxed to a retirement processing center is not forwarded, it is a delay.

One case is not covered by either number. If your retirement plan is on Transamerica’s workplace recordkeeping platform, the fax destination is the one printed on your own plan’s form, because service centers are assigned per plan. The 403(b)(7) number above is for the mutual-fund product, not for a 401(k) on the workplace platform.

What people fax to Transamerica

The forms that name a fax destination are the ones that release money or change a policy:

• 403(b)(7) distribution requests on the mutual-fund product
• Workplace 401(k) distribution, loan and hardship forms, using the fax printed on your plan’s own form
• Life and supplemental insurance service requests, with the insured’s name and policy number
• Beneficiary changes and address changes on an insurance policy

One rule is worth knowing before you fax a distribution form: if you are requesting direct deposit, the 403(b)(7) form requires an original voided check and states that faxed or electronic copies will not be accepted. That part of the packet goes by mail.

These lines take documents in, they do not answer

• Never fax wire instructions, a full bank routing and account pair, or login credentials. A sent fax cannot be recalled.
