Westlake Financial Fax Numbers

Westlake publishes fax numbers for title work and nothing else. Here are the two lines, what belongs on each, and where the other requests actually go.

+1 (323) 954-5228
Westlake title maintenance (out-of-state title transfer, DMV letter of request)
Handled by Vitu, the outside title processor working for Westlake in Sacramento, not by Westlake staff.
+1 (937) 481-5312

Which Westlake fax line you need

Both published Westlake fax numbers are about the title on the vehicle.

(323) 954-5228 is the Title Department line. It takes a written copy-of-title request from the finance company refinancing your loan, which is the step that lets a new lender see the existing lien. Westlake also accepts that request by email to its title-changes mailbox.

(937) 481-5312 is the title maintenance line for an out-of-state transfer. Westlake accepts the letter of request directly from the DMV or tax collector rather than from you, and the fax terminates at Vitu, a title-processing vendor working on Westlake’s behalf, at the Sacramento address Westlake publishes. Write the account number on the request so Vitu can match it.

What Westlake does not publish is as useful to know. There is no payoff fax: payoff quotes come through the account portal or by phone. There is no proof-of-insurance fax and no insurance-tracking vendor named on the site, so insurance updates go through your Westlake account. Name-change and remove-owner title letters are directed to the title-changes email address rather than to a fax number.

What people send to these lines

The senders are usually not the borrower:

  • A refinancing lender sending a signed copy-of-title request with the VIN, the account number, and its own return fax or email
  • A DMV or county tax collector sending a letter of request for an out-of-state title transfer
  • A borrower forwarding the DMV letter when the DMV hands it back to them to submit

Each of these is one or two pages, well inside a free send. Attach the supporting identification the DMV asked for if the letter references it.

The reply does not come back by fax

Both lines take documents in. Westlake and Vitu work the request and send the title or the release to the address on file, so there is nothing to watch for on a fax line afterwards.

Your delivery receipt from FaxTerra names the destination and the time the pages were accepted, which is what to keep. On a title request that receipt is the thing you can quote when a refinance closing is waiting on the lien release.

Verify the number before you send

A title request carries the VIN, the account number, and sometimes a driver license copy:

  • Read the current number from the Westlake’s FAQ, which is where Westlake publishes both lines.
  • Use the number on the Westlake letter or the DMV instruction sheet if you have one in front of you.
  • Remember the title maintenance line reaches a vendor rather than Westlake, so a question about the fax itself goes to Westlake by phone or through your account.
  • Do not send payoff or insurance documents to either line hoping they will be routed. Those flows are portal-based at Westlake.

How to fax Westlake Financial without a fax machine

Create a free FaxTerra account with an email address, upload the request as a PDF or a phone photo, enter the Westlake number, and send. A delivery receipt arrives by email.

A one-page or two-page title request sends free within your monthly free pages. Larger document sets are covered by a one-time credit pack from about 10¢ a page, and a dealer or title clerk sending these all week is the case the Starter plan ($4.99/month, 50 pages) is sized for.
