FaxTerra has an app for iPhone and Android so you can send and receive faxes from your phone — including faxing a photo you just took.
What the app does
The app does what the website does, in your pocket: send a fax, watch its status, and — with a subscription — receive faxes to your own number. It is especially handy for faxing a document you have as a photo, since you can send a picture straight from your phone.
One account, web and phone
The app and the website are the same account. Sign in on your phone with Google or Apple, or a code emailed to you, and you see the same faxes, number, and plan as on the web. Anything you send on one shows up on the other.
Buying on a phone
When you buy a subscription or a pack of pages inside the app, the purchase goes through the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android), and that store bills you from then on. Every plan is sold in the app, at the same price as on the website. What follows from being billed by a store, including receipts, cancelling, and moving billing onto a card, is in billing and who bills you.
Changing your plan in the app
If your plan is billed by the App Store or Google Play, you change it in the app: open Billing and the other plans are offered beside the one you are on. Moving up takes effect straight away; moving down takes effect at your next renewal, which is the store's own rule. The website cannot make that change for a plan a store bills, so it points you here instead. If you would rather pay by card, you can move billing to a card and keep the days you already paid the store for.

Is there a FaxTerra app?

Will the app tell me when a fax arrives?
Yes, if you have your own fax number. The app sends a push notification when a fax arrives, alongside the email you would get anyway, so you do not have to keep opening your inbox. Those are the only two ways we notify you; FaxTerra never sends text messages.
Can I change my plan in the app?
Yes. If your plan is billed by the App Store or Google Play, open Billing in the app and the other plans are there. Moving up takes effect straight away; moving down takes effect at your next renewal.
How do I cancel a subscription I bought in the app?
In that store's subscription settings, because the store that sold it owns the cancellation. It then takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, exactly as a card subscription does, and billing and who bills you has the steps and what happens to your fax number.
It says my subscription is on a different account. What do I do?
A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play stays tied to whichever FaxTerra account was signed in at the moment you bought it. If you are now signed into a different FaxTerra account, sign out and sign back in with the account you used to purchase; the subscription will show as active there. If you are not sure which account that was, contact support and we can look it up.
