Library Fax: What It Costs

The three libraries on this page fax for the public, on a self-service kiosk or at the desk, and each sets its own price. The figures below are their own pages; below them is the same send from your phone.

What the public library charges

A price here is a published figure for the place named, not a rate every location charges.

Kiosk, each additional page
Price $1.00for each subsequent page
Kiosk, international fax, first page

Prices as of October 2026

Three libraries' own pages, and a fourth, Amesbury Public Library, whose kiosk page lists the same kiosk rates as Mid-Continent's and takes debit or credit card only. Mid-Continent's kiosks are owned, operated, and serviced by an outside company, and credit/debit card is the only accepted method of payment; Lincoln's desk is cash only with a 10 page limit; Saint Paul charges nothing. Your library's page is the one that counts.

Receiving a fax there

Mid-Continent's kiosk does not: its page says incoming faxes will not be received. Lincoln's desk says "We send outgoing faxes only." A reply needs a number of your own.

$1.99 for 10 pages

Free pages reset on the 1st. If a second document takes you past 10 pages, a FaxTerra Lite pack covers it, with no subscription.

How faxing at the library works

Two shapes. A self-service kiosk, which Mid-Continent says is owned, operated, and serviced by an outside company and takes cards only: you feed the pages, type the number, pay at the screen. Or the circulation desk, where Lincoln's staff send the pages for you, for cash, with a page limit. Call ahead. The library's own page says which it has and what it charges.

What a library fax cannot do

Mid-Continent's kiosk page says it does not receive, and Lincoln's desk page sends only. A reply needs a number of your own. To receive, you need a number of your own. A One-Time Fax Number is $14.99 once, live for 90 days with 50 pages and nothing to cancel; a Starter plan is $4.99 a month with a number included. Either way the fax lands in your inbox as a PDF and an email tells you it is there.

The same send from your phone

Every FaxTerra account sends 10 free pages a month, with no card on file. Photograph the pages or upload the PDF at faxterra.com/send, type the number, and an email confirms delivery. Past the free pages, credit packs start at $1.99 and never expire. Library hours do not apply.

Questions

Can I fax at the library?

The three libraries on this page do, on a self-service kiosk or at the desk, and each sets its own price: $1.75 for the first page and $1.00 for each subsequent page at Mid-Continent's kiosk, $1 per page at Lincoln's desk, and no charge at Saint Paul. Check your library's page.

Is faxing at the library free?

Sometimes. Saint Paul Public Library lists faxing at no charge; the kiosks on this page charge per page and take cards only. The free send that needs no trip is your phone: the first 10 pages a month on FaxTerra cost nothing.

Can the library receive a fax for me?

Mid-Continent's kiosk page says incoming faxes will not be received, and Lincoln's desk sends only. For a reply, a number of your own on FaxTerra receives into your inbox.
