Office Depot Fax: What It Costs

Office Depot and OfficeMax fax on self-service machines in the store and publish one figure, a starting price. Below, what their pages say, what the machine cannot do, and the same send from your phone.

What Office Depot and OfficeMax charge

A price here is a published figure for the place named, not a rate every location charges.

Faxing, starting at
Price $0.99

Prices as of October 2026

Office Depot's self-service page says "Faxing Starting at $0.99" and does not say what that buys, a page or a fax, so the page gives no per-page total.

Receiving a fax there

Office Depot's page describes sending ("Send local, domestic, or international faxes") and says nothing about receiving a fax for a customer.

How faxing at Office Depot works

Office Depot's help page says: "Just bring your documents, follow the simple on-screen steps, and send your fax securely to any fax number." The on-screen steps are the whole procedure its page describes.

What the machine cannot do

It cannot give you a number of your own, and the store's pages do not describe receiving. To receive, you need a number of your own. A One-Time Fax Number is $14.99 once, live for 90 days with 50 pages and nothing to cancel; a Starter plan is $4.99 a month with a number included. Either way the fax lands in your inbox as a PDF and an email tells you it is there.

The same send from your phone

Every FaxTerra account sends 10 free pages a month, with no card on file. Photograph the pages or upload the PDF at faxterra.com/send, type the number, and an email confirms delivery. Past the free pages, credit packs start at $1.99 and never expire.

Questions

How much does it cost to fax at Office Depot?

For most documents, yes: the first 10 pages a month on FaxTerra are free with no card and no trip.
