Staples Fax: What It Costs

Staples sends faxes on a self-service machine in the store's print center and does not publish a price online. Below, what its own page says, and the same send from your phone.

10 pages free every month. No credit card.

What Staples charges

A price here is a published figure for the place named, not a rate every location charges.

Published price
None on the retailer’s site

Staples publishes no fax price on its site. Its in-store printing page says "Copy, print, scan and fax all in one place. Just pay at the machine and go."

Receiving a fax there

Staples' page describes sending ("local, long-distance and international faxing along with a printed confirmation") and says nothing about receiving a fax for a customer, so plan on sending only unless your store tells you otherwise.

Free pages reset on the 1st. If a second document takes you past 10 pages, a FaxTerra Lite pack covers it, with no subscription.

How faxing at Staples works

Take the pages to the self-service machine in the print center. You feed them, type the number, pay at the machine, and take the printed confirmation. The page says the machine sends local, long-distance and international faxes.

What the machine cannot do

It cannot give you a number of your own, and the store's page does not describe receiving at all. To receive, you need a number of your own. A One-Time Fax Number is $14.99 once, live for 90 days with 50 pages and nothing to cancel; a Starter plan is $4.99 a month with a number included. Either way the fax lands in your inbox as a PDF and an email tells you it is there.

The same send from your phone

Every FaxTerra account sends 10 free pages a month, with no card on file. Photograph the pages or upload the PDF at faxterra.com/send, type the number, and an email confirms delivery. Past the free pages, credit packs start at $1.99 and never expire.

Questions

How much does it cost to fax at Staples?

Staples does not publish a fax price on its site; its page says to pay at the machine. On FaxTerra the first 10 pages each month cost nothing.

Yes. The in-store printing page lists local, long-distance and international faxing along with a printed confirmation.

Is it cheaper to fax from my phone?

The first 10 pages a month are free on FaxTerra, with no card and no trip. A cover sheet, if you want one, prints free from our fax cover sheet page.
